Makeup Test

Yesterday, we got a glimpse into the future.

We ran our first makeup test for First Flight, aging our lead actor Leigh Parker by nearly two decades—and the results were nothing short of amazing.

The idea first came from our Production Designer, Janet Francis, who suggested something bold: instead of recasting for the older version of our character, why not try aging up Leigh himself? The moment she said it, we called Jennifer from The Art of Makeup Society to see if that was even possible. Not only was it possible—they were excited to help.

Trent from The Art of Makeup Society dropped into our studio to work his magic and give us a proof-of-concept. Leigh, from Leigh Parker Acting Studio, was an absolute legend through the whole process, and within a few hours we were staring at the older version of our main character—complete with textured skin, greyed hair, and the weathered look of a man who's lived a life of duty.

This test was just the beginning. On shoot day, they’ll be pulling out all the stops.
